FaithCARE Talk: How to build and develop an empathy mindset

Empathy is vital for effective helping. It helps to foster a deeper connection to provide more effective personalised support to the persons you are helping. Our speaker, Mr Steven Soh, will share strategies to cultivate an empathic mindset in helping relationships. Steven has been in the field of social service since 1998 helping individuals, families and couples. He is also involved in providing consultation and training to social service professionals. He believes his work is not just listening and dealing with people’s problems but instead, one that facilitates their growth – in personal relationships and professional contexts – and likens it to seeing a plant bud and blossom through journeying together. He is currently worshipping at Queenstown Chinese Methodist Church.
