1. Physical with (minimal) restrictions:

  • Play Doh / Clay Testimony
    – Each person moulds an object meaningful to them, and shares the meaning behind it at the end. Organisers can mould an object that can lead into them sharing a testimony which can lead into the sharing of the gospel
  • Christmas Charades
    – Standard charades rules. Kids can be split into separate teams. Different words / phrases can be acted out as individuals or in teams
    – Can start off with words related to secular Christmas celebrations e.g. snowman, Santa Claus
    – Finale / Bonus Round: Participants act out words related to the true Christmas story
    – At the end of the game, explain what they have acted and share briefly about the true Christmas story

  • Escape Room
    – Escape room to find the thief / killer
    – Everyone ends up being guilty in some way, depicting how everyone sins and needs salvation

PRE-PARTY PREP:

  • Choose a date
  • Call residents to find out if they will open their homes
  • Allocate 2 Small Group members to each home and invite another 3 neighbours (based on 5 visitors per family restriction)
  • If a few families open their homes, connect all homes via Zoom
  • Plan food menu

PROGRAMME:

6.30pm: Dinner With Residents

  • Make spiritual conversations, and engage in meaningful chats with the residents geared toward why we celebrate Christmas

 
7.30pm: Ice Breakers

  • Refer to Ice Breakers & Games for Kids / Youth / Adults / Elderly. Pick 1 or 2 suitable games depending on age
  • Pick games to play at the physical gatherings, and some to play via Zoom to bond between clusters

 
7.45pm: Christmas Skit

  • Zoom between clusters and watch Christmas Skit together
  • Refer to Christmas Skit
  • Have follow-up discussions and hear from your guests

 
8.10pm: Carols Via Zoom

  • See 2. Christmas Carols
  • Choose 1-3 carols beforehand. Pick the music tracks and print out the lyrics for your guests

 
8.20pm: Blessed Draw / Gift Presentation

  • Small Group can sponsor gifts for blessed draw, OR prepare a meaningful gift for the family

Refer to our AAB Visitation Guidelines for Dos and Don’ts when visiting residents to invite them to your party.

  • Host a dinner for Adopt-A-Block (AAB) residents at Small Group members’ home(s)
  • Pick the AAB residents up and drop them off before / after the party to show hospitality during this Christmas season
  • Do crafts with them (refer to Outreach Activities: Crafts)
  • Put up meaningful Christmas decorations as conversation starters for sharing the Gospel (refer for ideas: Making The Most Of Jesus In Your Christmas Decor)
